🚀Youth Policies for Better Local Democracies

The study visit to Ghent “Youth Policies for Better Local Democracies”, organised by DYPALL Network in cooperation with Bataljong and the Youth Department of the City of Ghent, took place from 27th May to 1st June 2024.

The Information and Education Development Network Armenia was represented by our member Syuzanna Avetisyan.

During the event, participants learned about youth participation in Ghent, the European Youth Capital 2024. They also had the opportunity to connect with other European organisations dedicated to youth involvement in local decision-making processes.

The program offered participants the chance to learn from Bataljong and engage with the Ghent Local Youth Council. Visits to LARF and BROEI doe- en denklik allowed participants to witness youth involvement practices firsthand. Additionally, participation in the final conference of Platform C, organised by Bataljong, enriched the visit with successful models of local youth participation in decision-making.

Syuzanna Avetisyan, who is also part of the decision-making process in Jermuk City of Armenia, as a member of the City Council of Elders, highlighted the importance of the visit: “This is a significant opportunity for decision-makers and youth department workers to exchange ideas and learn new methods about youth policies and youth participation in decision-making processes at the local level.”
