🎯 AIM AND OBJECTIVES

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming how we interact with media, challenging our

understanding of digital spaces. In today’s fast-changing digital environment, youth workers must equip themselves with the skills and knowledge to navigate the intersection of AI, media literacy, and digital safety. This training will provide tools to explore AI's positive potential and risks in youth work, foster critical media literacy, and develop strategies for safe and effective online engagement. Through workshops, study visits, and expert-led discussions, participants will learn how to critically approach digital technologies, address online risks like cyberbullying, and build engaging virtual communities.


🔍 PARTICIPANTS' PROFILE

We are looking for 3 motivated youth workers, trainers, facilitators, mentors, or NGO staff

members aged 18 or older who are fluent in English. The training is suitable for those who a

eager to explore AI’s impact on youth work, enhance their media literacy skills, and learn practical digital safety measures.


🦸What competencies will participants gain?

Participants will acquire a variety of competencies to tackle contemporary challenges related to AI, media, and digital literacy. During the program, they will:

● Gain an understanding of AI tools for youth work, including their benefits and risk

● Get insight into ethical considerations when using AI in youth work, including privacy,

algorithmic bias, and responsible implementation of AI.

● Develop critical media literacy skills, such as how to read, sort, make, and understand

media.

● Understand the principles of ethical media creation, focusing on accuracy, fairness, and

inclusivity, while learning how to guide young people in producing responsible and

impactful digital content.

● Learn about digital safety, including strategies to counter cyberbullying, hate speech, and

online harassment.

● Explore and practice using various AI tools as well as gaining valuable experience with

technologies that can enhance youth work, ensure online safety, and support critical media

literacy.

● Participate in study visits to local organizations to explore AI trends and media literacy

practices.

● Collaborate on practical outputs, applying learned skills to create meaningful resources.


💱 COSTS

The organisers will provide the food and accommodation and pay for it. Travel costs will be counted based on the distance calculator of the European Commission and reimbursed by bank transfer after the course (in EUR) through the sending organisations. According to the distance calculator for Armenia, the maximum travel cost is 395 euros.

The deadline for applying is 28 January 2025 at 23:59 Armenian time. Hurry up, as we have limited time related to visa issues and will make the selection on a rolling basis, which means when we get applications, we start evaluating them immediately, so first come, first served.
